Not Before Coffee

Early on, I was leaning toward voting for A First, whether it be a first woman, first black… I just wanted to be part of historical change. However, since diving deep into voting records and exploring positions on several issues that are very important to me, I’m seeing clearly that voting for a first may not be voting for the best.

Barack Obama On The Issues –

Barack Obama on Abortions:

• Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

I’m sorry, but parents have the right and obligation to know the activities of their children. This isn’t just running across the state line to get a six pack of beer people!

Barack Obama on Civil Rights:

• Voted NO on recommending Constitutional ban on flag desecration.

Same as with Hillary – my husband and other relatives fought for Old Glory and while she may only symbolic, she is a symbol of all they fought for and I believe ANYONE who wishes to become President of the United States should respect her just the same.

Isn’t the President the one commanding the troops who fight to protect the symbolism of the American Flag?

Barack Obama on Immigration:

• Support granting driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.
• Immigration system is broken for legal immigrants.
• Give immigrants who are here a rigorous path to citizenship.
• Extend welfare and Medicaid to immigrants.
• Voted NO on declaring English as the official language of the US government.
• Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

1. How can the ILLEGAL be given the LEGAL right to drive?

2. Immigration system isn’t broke, it’s just too slow – but slow works! I don’t believe something that’s this important to our own national security should be rushed.

5. Again, allowing Illegals to participate in Social Security? WHY?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for anyone who wishes to become a citizen to do so legally. I think everyone is entitled to live out their dream – if that means becoming American. But that takes TIME!

I believe illegal immigration is a huge problem in this country and rather than rewarding the ones who are here, I believe we need someone in office that’s going to make it unappealing to come here.

Employers who hire them are breaking the law – they should be doing time and paying the fines and there should be a massive witch hunt to uncover those making it so desirable to cross the border illegally.

These are the reasons Barack Obama will NOT get my vote!
