Not even a kiss on the way out the door…
Only a true American will understand what I’m about to say - everyone else, I’d LOVE if you would chime in on how wonderful it is to have health care that doesn’t bend you over every chance it gets! Please. Do. Let my fellow American’s know that our health care system really does suck ass!
I have to wonder what sort of scam is being ran between the insurance companies, health care providers and our government. A few months ago, I began keeping track of EVERY single doctors visit - every single test - every single, well, everything that pertained to medication, doctors and insurance.
What I’ve found is a constant flow of bills and charges that are being sent under a blue million different account numbers.
What exactly is the racket? I have to wonder just how many people are being screwed without so much as a thanks or a kiss blown across the room on the way out the door?
Just this morning I received a call from Med One Solutions (Just how many flippin’ collection agencies ARE there?) - telling me my husband owes bills from September of 2007.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m as anal as they day is long when it comes to organization. While I had the ‘collection specialist’ on the phone, I asked her to give me account numbers and details of the charges. She told me I had to request that in writing - that it could take up to 30 days and in the mean time, the charges were going on my husbands credit report.
Amazing they want their money NOW - but I have to WAIT for the answers to the question "What the Frap am I paying for?"
I’d like to bend every flippin politician over and torpedo their ass with a truck full of unpaid doctor bills of every hard working American who’s being scammed to cover the asses of the illegal immigrants that are getting free health care because of scams just like this one.
I Gar-In-Fruk-In-Tee ya I won’t be paying one more bill until I’ve got the itemized statement from BOTH Med One Solutions AND my insurance company AND the hospital/doctors offices.
Anyone else feel the same way? Do you pay close attention to your doctor bills?
If not, you should!
And this my dear friends is my Flippin It post for the week!
God’s gotta Bless America - because Bush and company and blastin’ it all to hell!
Grandma’s Fix for Depression during Recession
If you all have been following the news and getting more depressed by the day, due to the economy imagine how our children feel. With the cost of gasoline, groceries, and housing it is hard to realize how families can make ends meet. Add to the mix two or more children with school lunches, and supplies and oh yes, the never-ending clothing expense. Children have a habit of eating everything in site, and growing at least one size per-day. All of this plus what is on the news every evening is a part of a young families life.
As grandparents living on fixed incomes there is little most of us can do to help in the finance area but we can offer to take the children for a weekend, and give the mom and dad some alone time.
For birthdays and holidays maybe give gift certificates for restaurants that mom and dad like. This should bring a smile to their face and joy to our lives - in a world that is otherwise hectic, chaotic and sometimes downright depressing.
What’s good enough for British Royals
…must surely be good enough for Americans! Isn’t it?
Why is it that Prince Harry - A British Royal for crying out loud, can serve on the front lines in Afghanistan, has been there for over 10 weeks and actually see combat while many of the spoilt brats spawned by American politicians wouldn’t dream of ever going there. These brats continue to live their posh lives and drive posh cars while the closest thing they experience to combat is avoiding drowning when it rains from having their noses stuck in the air.
Ba-RAH-Voh! Prince Harry - a true hero!

The occasional stranger
I’ve waited so long for this week to arrive - the week when I could begin saying "next week, we start our Family-to-Family classes." You see, next week, my husband, kids and myself will begin a 12 week course through NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) to learn how to embrace the occasional stranger that visits our house and learn coping techniques. This stranger is bipolar disorder.
Anyone who has ever had contact with someone with bipolar disorder knows what a struggle it can be to engage in the simplest of conversation. A person with bipolar disorder isn’t any less a person and certainly aren’t less deserving of love - but what they are, I’m not quite sure.
My husband, whom I love and adore more than anything has been battling a problem without a name for several years. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that we learned this problem has a name. And it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that we learned of family support and classes that teach entire families ways to live more harmoniously with a bipolar consumer.
Everyone in or around the blogosphere is familiar with the name Heather B. Armstrong or more lovingly called Dooce — but few dig deep enough in her links to uncover the man behind the blogging powerhouse. Thankfully I’m nosey enough that I did dig deep enough. It was through Mr. Heather that I discovered the support options to begin with and where I learned to embrace the person and talk about this aspect of our own family dynamics.
Moment of Truth
How many tuned in to the new reality style game show "Moment of Truth" on Fox tonight?
The questions that were being asked made me realize that sometimes there are reasons to keep some secrets. It’s not so much the secrecy factor as it is respect.
If you felt you might be in love with someone else on the day you got married, that’s not something to tell your spouse. I think many people have cold feet and often second guess themselves on the day they get married. It doesn’t mean your making a mistake - it doesn’t mean you love your spouse any less. It simply means you’re human.
Moment of Truth doesn’t seem to be a game show that is worth playing for money unless you consider money to be more valuable then the relationship with your spouse and other loved ones.
Grandparent Rights
Grandparents take for granted their rights to visitation with their grandchildren. In reality it is a privilege given by the parents and a privilege that should be earned.
In today’s world of blended families the parents role is more difficult then ever. Not only are they trying to be impartial to the children, they have to contend with ex- spouses, ex-in-laws and new in-laws as well. When you add grandparents that think the new parent is lacking in parental skills - you’ve a perfect recipe for toxic relationships and you have a battle ground where many are bound to get hurt.
I happen to think that as grandparents, we should never question our grandchildren, as to how they feel about their new parental figure. We all know that these things take time. I am sure there were times that my children did not like me, nor my rules. If issues are important to a child and if you’ve established your position as a trusted adult, the child will come to you if they need to.
I would like to hear what you all think on this subject. So what about those grandparent rights? Earned, expected or absolute?

Baby boomers are not the burden
When the phrase baby boomer is used by in the news media it makes my blood boil. Baby boomer’s are to blame for all the shortcomings and the financial burdens of today.
This comes from a government that robbed the social security benefits, lost and cannot account for 9 billion dollars, has us in a never-ending war –allows illegal immigrants in the country without paying taxes, and are afforded health care, welfare, and education at taxpayers expense.
We are overrun in our prison systems. We have health care for illegal immigrants, prisoners, and government officials, what about the people that have paid for all of this we the taxpayers.
I am so sick of hearing about the poor immigrants, and how the baby boomer’s are taking the country under.
The fate of a crooked coach
Indiana University athletic director Rick Greenspan met with basketball players late Thursday at Assembly Hall, but it’s not known whether he revealed the fate of their coach, Kelvin Sampson.
Sampson is accused of knowingly participating in impermissible telephone calls and later of lying to IU and NCAA investigators. Sampson has denied knowingly providing misinformation. The NCAA detailed five major rules violations in the report, and university President Michael McRobbie commissioned Greenspan to do a seven-day investigation.
I’m not sure what I.U. anticipated since Sampson had been in trouble before for the same thing.
I believe that coach Sampson should lose his job and should not be allowed to coach an NCAA team again. If an attorney were disbarred, they would not be allowed to practice law, right?
Why should this coach be above the rules that he knew existed?
Some students were interviewed and see his offenses as nothing above a "little white lie" but to me a clear impression should be sent to everyone — that you can’t skirt the rules and get away with it.
John McCain off the ballot in Indiana?
We can only hope!
Hoosier blogger Thomas Cook from Blue Indiana may have uncovered a bit of information that could post a significant impact on the presidential election. In Indiana, a candidate has to get 500 signatures from each congressional district to qualify for the ballot. It appears that McCain is 9 signatures short in one district. Republican Governor Mitch Daniels is the chair for McCain’s campaign in Indiana.
I wonder if McCain will ditch Mitch too?

Did John McCain Cheat?
Personally I can’t imagine anyone wanting to mess around with the lock-jawed buffoon except the dominatrix meets geriatic meets plastic surgery Barbie wannabe that he calls wife, but then again, stranger things have happened.
So what do you think? Unfaithful or no? And why do you think that?
