Family Fun Gardens

With all that we hear on the news about food shortages I think it is time that we all get back to our roots, so to speak. Get your hands in the dirt and include the children. Give each child a space in the garden to care for. You will be surprised as to how excited they well become watching a seed grow into a food bearing plant.

There is a sense of pride the whole family will feel when siting down to a meal that they have grown themselves. You also have the assurance that there aren’t any additives added.

You will also find that this can be a fun family time together. I love the laughter that you can hear coming from my daughter’s garden when you pull into their drive.

What a great idea, my 4 year old will love it. We have a big backyard however we have dogs, I will need to ask http://www.rustypumpkinpoultry.com/ for some suggestions. Thanks for the idea!

Too bad we all don’t have a garden :-) But growing strawberries on the balcony with kids is fun too!

My father always gave the grandchildren the little garden tools, for an Easter gift instead of a basket. Well guess who made the biggest hit on that Easter?

Plants that yield threw out the summer are tomatoes, green peppers. Oh yes they can grow their very own pumpkins as well how great is that. Something that they can see growing daily will hold there interest

For those of you that have decks, or balconies the cherry tomatoes, and green pepper plants do well there also. One more suggestion would be to let your child have a small herb garden in pots, to be used in dishes that you cook for them.

    Got something to say?
