Racial Divide - The American Way
Below you’ll find a post that was submitted to me by my mother. I’ll let her have her say here and post my own position as a follow up.
A special on CNN is going to be on what it is like to be black in America. I have never been prejudice in my life. None of my family on either side ever owned slaves. We have always been hard workers and tried to help everyone that we could regardless of color.
My great grandfather came to America from Ireland he worked all of his life in coal mines to pay off the people that brought him here. I know that his family had a hard life but they never blamed Americans here before him.
My great grandmother on my mother’s side was Cherokee and again she wasn’t filled with hatred; she was a loving person according to my grandmother. My grandmother was proud of who she was and chose not to hate, but to love. Grandma always said,”if God can forgive them, so will I.”
Grandma never talked about the horrible things her people suffered in the Trail of Tears she said it would just open old wounds.
While watching The View on TV I saw Whoopi and Sherry get bent out of shape while declaring that it was fine for them to use the N word but white people are not allowed.
We now have black colleges; private schools that are all black, black magazines, and black Miss America. Whites did NOT create this divide - blacks did. It seems to me that some of the African Americans want to the rest of us to pay for something that happened hundreds years ago to people that today’s generations didn’t even know and that we were not a part off.
Red, yellow, black or white we are all Americans.
Jessie Jackson was angry with Barack Obama for not saying just what he wanted him too. Jessie needs to step aside and let Barack try to start a healing between all Americans.
Let me tell you what it is like to be white in America. When your job is outsourced or given to illegal, and you don’t know how you are going to feed your family or keep a roof over their head it is frightening. When we apply for a job we are told that they have to hire minorities first, qualified or not because of EEOC. I think that all companies should have to hire Americans of any color and not give American jobs to illegals.
Our government jobs are outsourced or given to the illegals also. We hear the politicians say the illegals are God’s children well guess what so are we.
We are losing our homes, health care, and families torn apart just like all Americans. Do I think one nationality deserves better treatment then others? The answer is no. Let us put the blame were it lies with the politicians.
What does it say about us, as a country when going to church on Sunday is a time to spew hatred toward our neighbors? Do you not know that this weakens the very foundation of our nation?
Let us all pray one for the other and for our nation.
How can you hate me so when you have never met me? When you hate white people you hate a part of yourself because we are a nation of mixed races. I am proud to be an American are you?

Got something to say?

There is definitely a lot of double standards being dished out and tons of reverse discrimination going on.
Have you seen my post titled: Let’s Talk about the Letter N?
You are right, we have to be careful about voting for people that are going to perpetuate the problem. I too hold the politicians responsible.
Another issue I hold politicians responsible for is the illegal immigration issue. We have to hold politicians accountable. I’ll be posting about Sancturary Citizens soon.
You’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for that one.. It’s going to be a Doozy!!
