John McCain’s proposed economic package would be "worse than Bush"

Published by Gayla at 4:30 pm under Politics

Analysis suggests that the McCain plan shares five key characteristics of Bush policies. First, it is enormously expensive, costing more than $2 trillion over the next decadeand essentially doubling the Bush tax cuts. Second, the McCain plan would predominantly benefit the most fortunate taxpayers, offering two new massive tax cuts for corporations and delivering 58 percent of its benefits to the top 1 percent of taxpayers. The Bush tax cuts provide 31 percent of their benefits to the top 1 percent of taxpayers.

Third, the McCain tax plan continues the shift of the tax burden from investment income onto earned income. Fourth, the plan not only fails to address current tax shelter problems in the tax code but in fact will lead to increased sheltering. Fifth, McCain cannot pay for his tax cuts without massive reductions in Social Security, Medicare, or other key programs that benefit the vast majority of Americans.

How can this country possibly withstand more of Bush or worse?

As I waited in line for over half-an-hour today to get gas before the prices skyrocketed, I realized that if McCain gets in, my family will not, absolutely NOT, be able to afford to live in this country any longer.

Where did you get your information? It would make sense to cite your references and give credit to your sources. I’m sure the figures didn’t just come to you while waiting to put gasoline in your car.

Wouldn’t it be more relevent to compare McCain’s plan to Obama’s. With either candidate we will be increasing the deficit. Perhaps Sen. Obama will be able to prevent hurricanes when he gets in office, that should prevent the fuel prices from spiking.

Ms. Hernandez, you are absolutely correct. I have linked to my source. I was too busy paying attention to my teenage boys by taking them for *sport* lessons in hopes they won’t feel neglected and end up knocking some girl up and have me screaming at her and him to abort.

    You need to read this:

If you vote for Obama you’ll be shooting yourself in the foot not to mention that of your family.

I personally believe that the government is WAY too involved in how much WE earn. Obama said so himself and the YouTube is on my blog somewhere.

We need to seriously check out the Fair Tax book that the Libertarians have been reading via Neal Boortz. I am planning on picking up a copy for myself to read before November rolls around.

I don’t think the government has any business prying into our financial affairs. We already pay taxes. We don’t need to pay more. Obama wants to turn this country into a socialistic free-for-all. No thanks!

Hey girl. I was up late having a midnight snack with Miss Fiona. My stiff neck doesn’t know when to quit. I did WAY too much at the gym last night and I’m paying for it BIG time.

Anyway, I was going through the blogs in my newsreader. Check out this post:

I was going to blog about it but don’t really have time. Plus, I have a post coming up tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday about my Mom :)

So add that blog to your newsreader. I’ve just added it recently myself and so far I like what I see. But read that link, k?
