Sleep, the luxury only the well-off can afford
I’m fully aware that sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture . . . . . . . .
But who can sleep with all the problems we have.
If people are terrified about the future, they will not sleep.
And how can you get enough sleep if you are working two, maybe three jobs . . . . . ..Sleep has turned into a luxury – only the well-off can afford it.
A comment posted to an article that I read about a sleep deprivation study and its relevance to putting you at risk for more colds.
My heart just wrenched for this person. There are so many individuals today struggling like this and feeling like this and I am certain it will get worse before it ever gets better. I myself suffer from multiple sleep disorders. I choose to search for the root source and try to eliminate it instead of prescriptions drugs, sleep studies, countless trips to the doctors office, trying this medication with 15 side effects that require you to take 2 more prescriptions, etc.
It is an ongoing battle, but educating one’s self ….in my opinion….about the related topics to your life is a persons best defense. The more you know and the more you try to do regarding making "lifestyle changes", the better off I seem to be. Now, finding the time to do this is yet another problem that we might face but hey, that is a whole other topic…………
