Michelle Obama Portrait – What’s all the fuss about?

Michelle Obama Portrait

Michelle Obama’s first official portrait as first lady was released by the White House Friday.

She appears in a Michael Kors black shift dress and pearls in the photo, taken in the famed home’s "Blue Room" by White House photographer Joyce N. Boghosian.

I’ve heard there’s a lot of griping from ‘conservative groups’ about this portrait and frankly, I just don’t get it.

What is wrong with having first lady who actually has arms fit for a sleeveless dress? Just because it’s never happened before doesn’t mean it’s not appropriate.

Michelle Obama is a natural beauty – she’s a great example for women, both black and white – she’s a great mother – just watching her girls interact with her is a testament to that!

I love the fact that even as the FIRST LADY – she is able to put her kids first – which is a far cry from some mothers I know who put their cause above their kids.

Can someone explain to me just what the beef is with this portrait? Maybe if I had a better understanding of the position I might get it – because right now – I don’t!
