Not Before Coffee

A US cheerleading coach has been sacked after a group of vengeful parents and students who were not selected for their schools cheer team worked together to expose her secret life as a Playboy centerfold model.

The steamy shots of Carlie Christine, who was named as Playboy’s "cyber girl of the week", were left on the desk of the principal at Casa Robles Fundamental High School in California.

One parent stated, “the girls are supposed to look up to their coaches.”

Yeah well they’re supposed to be able to look up to their parents too. Right?

Holy Cow! I don’t even know where to begin to express my disgust with the actions of the parents AND the cheerleader wannabes. Such stereotypical actions of spoilt brats and their parents who don’t get their way.

Had you asked me twenty years ago if I would have a problem with the coach appearing in Playboy – I’d have probably said yes. But now? Not so much. Seriously, kids are texting much worse on their cell phones! Perhaps if we didn’t place so much emphasis on the human body being so “taboo” it would pack much less punch.

Everyone makes choices they regret later in life – don’t they? I just think if this had been handled differently – this might have been used as a lesson for the girls. I just think we are presented with opportunities that come in many shapes and sizes – it’s up to us to take those situations and turn them around.

I’d love to have a coach who made a decision like this speak to my kid about her choices, what it’s been like trying to hide her past and why her decision was not a wise one. I think kids would respond to that much better than seeing a pissed off mom sneaking photos into the principal’s office in a cowardly way.
