Obama and Notre Dame – My Take

Published by admin at 1:51 pm under Flippin It

Obama at Notre Dame I tried – truly I did – to fight the urge to comment on President Obama and his address delivered during commencement over the weekend.

First of all – SHAME on the protesters that would take this day – a day that so many individuals had invested thousands of dollars and hours in to. If I were a parent or student taking part in that graduation ceremony, I’d be furious at the protesters who acted in such a selfish manner to cause chaos inside the facility and during the ceremony.

How terribly rude and inconsiderate!

Next, to all the protesters, perhaps if you would focus more on teaching kids the truth about sex – birth control and risk, the “need” for abortion would diminish. Rather than making moves that break the law and stir chaos within your world – why not take positive measures to heighten moral, values and knowledge that might encourage wiser decision making and minimize the number of accidents.

Why would anyone choose to follow the advice of lunatics who purposely and willingly break the law and make spectacles of themselves in the name of their cause?

To me, that’s sort of like trying to teach a child not to hit by paddling them.

I believe Barack Obama handled the situation with style and grace and while so many people don’t approve of his position on abortion – everyone would have to agree – his straight forward mention and moving on was the best and most respectful to the graduates of the Notre Dame Class of 2009.
