Sarah Palin, Michael Jackson and Blogging from the lakes

Published by admin at 8:32 pm under Coffee Break

Currently I’m enjoying a little more time at the lakes with my kids and the man in my life. While we are at removed from the hustle of everyday life, we do have cable and have been keeping track of the happenings of Michael Jackson, his memorial and Sarah Palin and her political suicide.

First, I want to say how much it saddens me to say goodbye to Michael Jackson. While I’ve always accepted that MJ was a little on the strange side, I never once thought he was on the malicious or criminal side. As it turns out – he wasn’t. I find it disappointing that the media hasn’t mentioned the fact that Jordan Chandler admitted he lied about the sexual abuse for which Michael Jackson has been repeatedly ridiculed.

It seems his father saw Michael as a cash cow and the scheme he cooked up worked like a charm.

I certainly hope the courts and the world give Jordan Chandler’s dad a hefty dose of the pain and suffering he caused for Michael Jackson over the last several years.

I also hope the courts step up and do what’s right by those children. While I think MJ’s mom would be a great choice to raise those kids, I think Joe should be restricted from seeing them or having anything to do with them. He makes me ill! He messed up their father – he shouldn’t have the opportunity to mess them up too.

Next – Sarah Palin – to be quite frank, I’m glad she stepped down. I think her bailing on her post in Alaska is a prime example of the type of leader she would be.

I’ve never said I didn’t like Sarah Palin – I think she’s a great mom – she’s a beautiful woman and I think she’d do a heck of a job with the local PTA – but for her to say the media has ran her out of her position is PA-THA-ETIC.

Does anyone remember how the media mocked Chelsey Clinton? What about the Bush twins? Amy Carter? Ronnie Reagan’s kids?

If she doesn’t like the mix of negative attention the media serves up with the positive – then she made the right move.

Politics is hardly the career choice for a person who can’t take being followed by the media. When a person chooses just such a career – they make a choice to live in a glass house. That includes their entire family.

David Letterman and what he did? Sure it was in poor taste, but I think he made an honest mistake and being a “guy” it’s expected that he eff up in a big way once in a while.

I don’t think we’ve heard the last of this though – I think there’s something brewing behind the scenes. Some scandal will present itself soon enough – I just have to wonder what sort of mess Palin got herself into.

Just sayin’

Ok – I’m back to enjoying my time in the water and sun!
