How Rude!
Ever had one of those moments where you wanted to scream at the top of your lungs at someone who seems oblivious to just how rude they are being?
Earlier today, while waiting in line at the meat counter at the local market, there were two women who walked up before me and six other people. The two women were obviously making this shopping trip together – as friends or mother and daughter – not sure which, but it was for sure one of those.
One approached the counter to place her order for ten 1 pound packs of ground beef. The lady behind the counter looked at the crowd that was forming and called for assistance. Help arrived.
The next employee called for the next in line – the other lady stepped up to the counter and ordered eight 1 pound packs of ground beef.
As it turned out, I waited longer for 2 pounds of prepackaged beef cubes then I waiting in line for my kids to get the H1N1 vaccination.
Why couldn’t these women have phoned ahead for their order? If they are local, they know the market does that.
OR
Why couldn’t they have gotten 10 pounds and broken it down at home?
OR
Why couldn’t they have occupied the time of ONE employee for their large and very time consuming order and leave the other employee to deal with the rest of the customers waiting in line for much smaller orders?
Isn’t it our place, as fellow consumers and humans for that matter – to let people know when they are being just plain stupid?
