A Mothers Christmas Prayer

imageMy husband Mel and I were watching a Christmas special one evening last year, which really tugged at my heart it, was Jack Frost. The story is about a boy 12-years-old that had lost his father the year before in an accident, and just could not get past it.

The father came back in the form of a snowman, which appeared on the boy’s front lawn. It was a really heartwarming movie. In the end the snowman melted and the spirit of the father appeared to the mother and son. He told them how much he loved them and would always watch over them.

I lost my son at the age of 13, and while watching the movie a thought came to me, "God if you would only let me see my son for one minute, it would be all the Christmas gift I would ever want."  While in prayer I ask Tony "can you ask God to give me a sign that you can hear me.”

I had gone into another room to talk with God when Mel came to the door and said can you come out here there is something you need to see? I opened the door and Mel took my hand and led me to the front window facing the road, there at the end of the drive in the fresh fallen snow was a beautiful snow angel. There were no tire tracks and no footprints anywhere around the Angel. I thought my heart would pound out of my chest.

Mel and I thought that Cassidy, the little girl next door had made the angel for me. I called her early the next morning to thank her for my angel and she said "Grammy what angel I didn’t make a snow angel, it was late when it started to snow and I can’t go out then." The picture you see was taken by Mel, of my snow angel in our driveway from my Tony last year.

Ok, I know that some of you don’t believe in angels, but I truly believe my little angel left me one that night in the snow.

If you have ever had an experience like mine, please share it with me.
