MacInnes of Medline Industries Inc., the company that created the pink gloves did so to keep the conversations about Breast Cancer awareness alive, during daily activities in hospitals. A portion of the profits made by Maclnnes of Medline, while manufacturing the pink gloves will go into a fund to help women that cannot afford a mammogram.

The staff at St. Vincent Medical Center of Portland Oregon decided to take the Breast Cancer awareness one step further, by making a video and posting it on (You Tube).

Nursing manager of the hospital Martie Moore, stated that” so many people working at the hospital had someone in their life that has been affected by breast cancer therefore they all wanted to be a part of the Video.

There was some anxiety with the 200 staff members due to the fact that no one was a professional dancer. The staff decided that with all of their compassion for breast cancer patients and the fun they would have making the video it might just catch on.

The Video was set to Jay Sean’s recording “Down” took two days to make, the dancing took place in every area of the hospital, with everyone having a great time while letting go of their intubations.

To the surprise of the hospital staff the video went worldwide with over 2 million viewings to date.

"They say laughter is the best medicine. You got it," said Lily Melvin, who is also battling breast cancer.
