What if Obama was actually viewed as…

Half black and half white?  What IF people would recognize him as the best of their own race/gender and built on that. (and don’t shoot me for using the word “best” it’s just a word to get a point across).

I’ve seen SO many celebrities and leaders, many of whom I truly admire, coming out and endorsing Obama.

The last couple of days has left me wondering - WHAT Am I missing?

I’m asking because I want to see what everyone else sees!

I don’t want a Reverend Wright wannabe trying to cram him down my throat - I am just saying that it’s time I start looking at the other two possible’s for the November election.

Can you tell me what you see in Obama?

Could it take this man - this half black, half white man to create some sort of bridge between two races that have been divided for hundreds of years?

I’m not saying I AM changing my mind!  I’m not saying I will — what I am saying is that I am open to the possibilities.

Indy Star Endorses Hillary Clinton

vote Today, The Indianapolis Star endorsed Hillary for president. The Star wrote:

[Hillary] is well prepared for the rigors of the White House. She is tough, experienced and realistic about what can and cannot be accomplished on the world stage….

The next commander in chief will take office at a time of extraordinary risk for this nation, both at home and abroad. The challenges — including those posed by a sagging economy, rising energy and food costs, the gap in health care, wars in two countries and threats from Iran — are complex….

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is the better choice, based on her experience and grasp of major issues, to confront those challenges. She earns The Star’s endorsement in Tuesday’s primary.

Obama picks up two more celeb endorsements

Barack Obama has landed two new celeb supporters: Nicole Richie and beau Joel Madden.

nicole richie and joel madden

Along with newborn daughter Harlow, the two hit this weekend’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Palm Springs, where Madden sported an Obama T-shirt.

Asked if they’re backing the Democrat, he told Usmagazine.com. “Yes, we are.”
“He is a good man, he is cool,” Madden added. “He is just a great person overall.”

I’ve never really put much stock into what celebrities support which candidate, but I have to wonder, does it have any bearing on the decision of others?

Do you pay much attention to celebrity endorsements or do you do your own homework on the candidates?

Not taking chances with my vote

indiana-county-map With having moved since the last election and watching just how important the Indiana primary is becoming, I took a couple of minutes to call my county voter registration office to confirm I had done everything necessary to make sure my vote counts.

If you are in Indiana and have any questions at all about your eligibility to vote, you can find your county office numbers, make a quick call to make sure.

Don’t waste your vote!

And when pondering your vote, consider the candidates — Seriously consider them!

Are you bitter?

Is there a difference between Patriotism and Trivial?

Will you vote for a candidate that won’t sing the anthem?  Who won’t say the pledge? or who won’t wear an American Flag pen? - Because they are all trivial.

That’s not rumor folks, that was his words, from his mouth in an interview within the last couple of weeks.

Will you vote like the bitter person one candidate thinks you are?

Or will you vote for someone who is familiar?

You decide.

Democrats may vote for McCain

"A sizable proportion of Democrats would vote for John McCain in the upcoming presidential election if he is matched against the candidate they do not support for the Democratic nomination."

"This is particularly true for Hillary Clinton supporters," they add, "more than a quarter of whom currently say they would vote for McCain if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee."

I happen to be one of them!  I’ll vote for McCain in a heartbeat if Clinton doesn’t win the nomination!

I absolutely cannot and will not vote for a candidate who sees something as significant as wearing an American lapel pin as trivial.  This tells me he is 1) out of touch with the American people and 2) not as patriotic (even symbolic) as he should be.

It’s the little things that mean a lot to me when it comes to a candidate and Barack hasn’t offered up any ‘little things’ that I can believe in.

I don’t like that he won’t sing the anthem -

I don’t like that he won’t wear an American pin during campaigning -

I don’t like that he can’t stand firm against a minister that speaks out against American’s in such a hateful way -

Heidi Montag endorses McCain but forgot to register to vote

heidi-montag

Recently, Hills star Heidi Montag did her patriotic duty and announced to the world that she would be voting for presidential candidate and war hero John McCain in the upcoming election. She really is a "feminist hero," just like the New York Times said! Except for one minor detail: Montag isn’t actually registered to vote.

Oops, guess that does pose a problem.

What a flippin bimbo!  She’s what keeps giving blondes a bad name!

Does Obama plan on disarming America?

Is this as disturbing to you as it is to me?  Please do, correct me if I’m hearing this wrong!

It sounds like his plan would make us even more vulnerable.

Chelsea Clinton - None of Your Business

Chelsea Clinton was quick on her toes Tuesday when asked whether her mother’s credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

"Wow, you’re the first person actually that’s ever asked me that question in the, I don’t know maybe, 70 college campuses I’ve now been to, and I do not think that is any of your business," Clinton said during a campaign visit for her mother, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Watch for yourself…

Was Chelsea out of line?  Should she have answered the question more directly?

Personally, I LOVED the way she took the person asking the question, knocked them down a few notches letting them know they were the ONLY one with gumption enough to ask such a horrible question and then let them know the obvious - It’s None of Your Business!

And it’s not!  What went on during that time has nothing to do with Chelsea - it has nothing to do with the campaign of Hillary - and if anything, I think the fact that Hillary weathered such a challenging time with the class she did, should speak volumes.

Aren’t there far more important issues at hand?

I’m really ashamed that this had to happen in Indiana.  I can only hope the person who asked was visiting from out of state.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - A Political Connection

According to the Associated Press, they do: Barack Obama is the ninth cousin to Brad Pitt, and Hillary Clinton is Angelina Jolie’s ninth cousin twice removed.

Other surprising links made by researchers at the New England Historic Genealogical Society were that Hillary is a distant cousin of Madonna, Celine Dion and Alanis Morissette,  while Obama can call George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Republican rival John McCain cousin too.

Find out who else who seems to share the same family tree.

And if you’re in the mood for a chuckle - check out the photos over at I’m Not Obsessed that commemorate the recent discovery.

What a winning team looks like
