Never more than this year. The Union Leadership will take member dues and spend them to support Democratic Candidates that the members don't support. 40% of Union members vote Republican but 90% of Union money goes to Democrats. We support Unions and we support Union workers when done right. The problem is that Leftist Union Leadership has hijacked the Unions just like they have hijacked our government and other institutions. Many unions no longer represent the best interests of their members. They shake their members down for money to support other leftist who are destroying our nation.
Here is a list of Union donations and their rankings – 90% of which went to Democrat Candidates in 2014 and the trend continues. This list of unions top the Koch Brothers in political donations. Via Open Secrets:

According to this Rasmussen Report of August 10, 2016, most voters – including those who are now or have been union members – believe the majority of union leaders are out of touch with their membership nationwide.
The Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 20% of Likely U.S. Voters think most organized labor leaders do a good job representing union members. Fifty-seven percent (57%) say most union leaders are out of touch with most of their members from throughout the nation. One-in-four (24%) are undecided.

Even among voters who are now or have been a member of a labor union, only 25% think union leaders do a good job representing their membership. Fifty-seven percent (57%) of these voters say most organized labor leaders are out of touch with their members. This is a concern to Democrats this election cycle with many union members reportedly leaning toward Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump because of his positions on jobs and free trade even though union leaders are solidly behind Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Labor unions donated nearly a half-billion dollars to Democrats and left-wing causes from 2012 to 2014, according to this report. The $418 million identified in the report from Center for Union Facts is in addition to millions more spent in 2015 and this year by organized labor, long a reliable backer of Democrat and left-wing causes.
