LENGTHY RANT AHEAD: When my boys were 4, I divorced their dad. He was a very nice, likable guy, but FAR from husband/father material. I have remained close to, and LOVE, his family with all my heart. They’ll ALWAYS be my *in-laws*.
When I divorced, my boys and I did live at my dads, so I didn’t have the expense of a house payment, but that was the ONLY thing I let my dad provide. I worked as many as 3 part-time jobs to provide for my kids and to make sure we were NEVER a burden on my dad OR on taxpayers. I NEVER used welfare! In fact, I would have been SO ASHAMED! I am able-bodied, able to work and had my boys BECAUSE I CHOSE TO! They were not the responsibility of ANYONE but me!
As a “thank you” to my dad, for the roof over our head, I paid the utilities and bought all the groceries. I didn’t take advantage of my dad in any way. He owed me NOTHING and the twins were there because of choices I made!
I hired a sitter when I needed one. I kept the house very clean, organized and properly maintained. I know there are some who thought I mooched off my dad, but they didn’t have a clue, and frankly, I didn’t care.
I look around and see *stereotypical welfare moms* crying about how *HARD* life is. I SEE what they spend their money on, and what they don’t (we ALL SEE IT actually). They claim their independence, they don’t need a man, but fail to realize they don’t need *A Man* they need millions of them to support their jobless, freeloading lifestyle. WELFARE IS NOT FREE!
If you are on welfare, if your children are healthy, if you are healthy, able-bodied and able to work, I’ve got news for you… YOU ARE NOT INDEPENDENT! YOU ARE A LAZY WELFARE MOM to me and I WILL JUDGE YOU!
That is MY RIGHT! I work HARD to pay for YOUR choices. If that’s mean, too bad! Life is rough, suck it up!
When YOU depend on ANYONE to meet YOUR BASIC NEEDS, you GRANT permission to those you depend on to judge you on how you manage THEIR finances. Did they invest in you wisely? Do you take advantage of their help? Make WISE choices with OTHER PEOPLES MONEY!
If you don’t want people in YOUR business, take care of YOUR OWN BUSINESS! It’s a very simple concept!
