When I was growing up, summer was a time when my mom and grandma would always get together and make homemade Hillbilly Ham Salad. It was a real treat back then because it was such a huge chore to make, considering they ground everything out with an old fashioned meat grinder like this one.
As I got older, I was introduced to food processors but still, it seemed like such a chore because food processors just didn't do the best job and everything would clump up in the bottom. Because of that, you'd end up with some ham salad that was perfect and some that was more like wallpaper paste. And if you’re anything like me, texture is VERY important when it comes to food of any kind!
Recently I was introduced to the Nutri Ninja Auto-IQ Blender through a sample review offer. As soon as I got my hands on this baby, the first thing I wanted to try was grandma's ham salad and was tickled pink with how well it worked and even more with how easy it is to clean up.
Hillbilly Ham Salad:
3 lb. chunk bologna cut into 2″ chucks
1 green pepper chopped
1 onion chopped
grind above.
Add: sweet relish, Miracle Whip, dash of salt to taste.
So far I have made ham salad, cookie dough and tried my hand at a bit of juicing.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a horrible flu bug that knocked me on my butt. As we well know, drinking lots of fluids when your sick helps to shorten downtime and help you get back on your feet much quicker.
My dad is an avid juicer and has had his Juiceman Juicer for many years. I called my dad to get his suggestion on a juice that was easy to make, that wouldn't taste terrible because nausea was a BIG part of the bug I had, and that would help me get over that nasty bug quicker. Being the loving dad he is, he went to the store and picked up a few things to run through my Nutri Ninja.
Our Flu Juice of choice:
3 carrots chopped
1 stalk of celery chopped
1 apple chopped
½ cucumber chopped
½ handful of parsley
My dad swears by parsley, garlic and ginseng. Personally, I can't bring myself to do the garlic thing but the parsley isn't so bad.

The juices are of special interest to me because I have a husband that happens to be a very picky eater. We often talk about him eating healthier but I just can't seem to get him there. BUT, when I mix up a good recipe, he can't tell the difference from apple juice that just happens to look a little different.
Whether you are a picky eater looking for healthy options, a health nut looking for smoothie/juice options or just love to cook, Nutri Ninja has a little something for everyone – all wrapped up in one nice little gadget!
