One in every 100 American adults are in prison. USA has less than 5% of the world's population, but it has almost 25% of the world's prisoners – What does that tell you?
It tells me:
We are not harsh enough on crimes otherwise people who “would be” criminal have NO fear of consequences.
Privatized prisons are getting very RICH off the backs of taxpayers and strive to maintain a high occupancy rate so they are making them more “humane” by giving prisoners “perks” – prison should be HARSH. It's not supposed to resemble “home” – ya know? It should be so completely dreadful that NO ONE would ever want to go or return!
We have a President and administration that thrives on racism and on segregating the entire population into smaller groups, labeled and armed with excuses to become and remain weak, poor and dependent on government when they should be spending their time in MUCH more productive ways.
If people were rewarded for doing good things like:
- getting an education
- learning a skill or trade
- not having kids they cannot afford
- learning the value of hard word
This world would be SO different.
When people OWN their OWN choices and reap their OWN consequences – they will try harder to make those consequences positive.
If certain people weren’t SO afraid of losing their government handouts and if they weren’t SO protected by a government that is SO politically correct – things like this would not happen! Call them what they are, and make them pay for their actions! They ARE CRIMINALS who obviously need something better to do with their time than create and fuel chaos!
Protests turn violent outside Trump New Mexico event
Police in riot gear and mounted patrol units faced off against a violent crowd of protesters outside a Donald Trump campaign event in Albuquerque Tuesday night.
Hours after Trump and some 4,000 of his supporters left the Albuquerque Convention Center, approximately 100 demonstrators remained in downtown. Smoke grenades were used in an effort to disperse the crowd, while protesters threw rocks, plastic bottles, burning T-shirts and other items at officers.
Albuquerque police said on Twitter late Tuesday that “several” officers were being treated for injuries as a result of being hit by rocks. At least one person was arrested.
Have something to add? I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
